Elmvale Zoo license holder convicted in Barrie court

An Elmvale Zoo license holder was convicted for failing to provide information requested by a conservation officer during an inspection.
Serafino Persi, 70, holder of a zoo license for Elmvale Jungle Zoo was fined $1,600.
On July 7, 2005, during an inspection at Emlvale Jungle Zoo, Persi withheld a document relevant to the conservation officer's
inpsection under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.
Justice of the Peace Gerry Solursh heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on March 25 of this year.
